6Tag for Windows Phone Gets Yet Another Update

It may be time for me to create a “This Week in 6Tag Updates” section of the site.

Once again developer Rudy Huyn has dropped another update to the popular Instagram app for Windows Phone, this time it increments up to version 4.3 for those keeping score at home.  This update, like the 4.2 update last week, brings several new features both from a photo sharing perspective as well as the user experience.  It’s certainly worth the upgrade and it is available now in the Windows Phone store.

In this update, 6Tag has been blessed with a custom rescale algorithm to improve the image quality.  This is superior to the native algorithm used by Instagram so your photos should look sharper when you post them and save them to your camera roll.  Effectively this new algorithm makes your photos near HD quality compared to the Instagram app.

Secondly, you can now create custom locations when you have enabled locations in the app on your phone.  Until now you pretty much were stuck with whatever Instagram found around you as places to add to your photo.  Now if you can’t find the place you are located – say a new restaurant for example – you can create it in the

app for yourself and others to use on Instagram.

Finally, the dark theme of 6Tag has been improved for a better user experience.  In previous builds I found the dark theme to be more of a dark grey than black.  That is not the case now in version 4.3.  It is properly dark and looks much more appealing.

If you are looking for a solid Instagram app for Windows Phone, look no further than 6Tag.  I contend it is the best one available.
