Sony Releases Nougat Update For The Xperia X Performance

Sony is the latest manufacture to start releasing Android Nougat updates for their devices.  Today the company started rolling out the Nougat update to the Xperia X Performance, both the US model as well as the global, dual-SIM model.  The update is software revision 39.2.A.0.327 for those keeping score at home and the OTA update should be hitting devices over the course of the next few days.  The update is about 1GB in size so you will want to be on Wi-Fi in order to download the update.  Once you have it, your phone will need 15-20 minutes to complete the install and it will be rebooted in the process.

Few details are available as to what, if anything, Sony has added to the update beyond the Nougat features.  With Nougat, things like split-window views, improvements to Doze and an improved

Sony joins a slow but steadily growing list of manufactures who are releasing Nougat for their devices.  HTC recently announced the update for unlocked HTC 10 devices and LG along with carriers is rolling the update out to the LG G5.  Other manufactures like Samsung and Nextbit have their Nougat updates in beta which should see those released before the end of 2016.
