Sprint To Start Selling The Essential PH-1 Starting Today

For readers who are on Sprint and wanted to pick up the new Essential PH-1, today’s a good day.  Starting today, you can pick up the PH-1 from the carrier both online and in stores.  It will mark a turning point for availability of the phone as shipping from Essential has been slow and it has hasn’t even started from Amazon yet.

Sprint has a promotion running on their Sprint Flex Lease scheme.  Effectively you save 50% off the cost of the phone if you order now which drops the price of the phone to $14.58 per month for 12 months.  Using this program, you save about $260 according to the carrier. Want to buy it outright?  No problem.  You can do that from Sprint for $699.99.

For those that don’t remember, the Essential PH-1 has a titanium body with a ceramic back, a 5.7″ 2560 x 1320 Quad-HD display, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage built-in.  It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.  This octa-core processor has four cores running at 2.45GHz and the remaining four clocked at 1.9GHz.

Essential has already pushed an OTA update out to the phone that brings a number of bug fixes and improvements, especially to the camera, as well as the September Android Security Update.  Essential has indicated they will be very aggressive with updates to the PH-1.
