When the opportunity came up a few weeks ago to try out and review a Nokia Lumia 1320 I jumped on the chance.  While I had seen them in my local phone shops, I had not really had a chance to play with one or try it out.  It looked impressive with all of it’s phablet, 6″ screen glory but I didn’t know if this was a phone with all show and no go.  After all, it was the little brother of the almighty Lumia 1520.

Having used it now in earnest for two solid weeks and full fledge adopting it as my daily driver, I can honestly say that the Lumia 1320 is nothing short of impressive.  For a device this big with this unbelievable battery life, to be priced at just $229 US/ £219 UK, it is an incredible value.  It is powerful and if you can get around the average camera built into it, this should be on your list of considerations when it comes to your next Windows Phone.

Over the course of the last week I’ve had a chance to use and put through its paces the Lumia 635, the budget friendly entry Windows Phone from Nokia.  I have to admit that when I first got it, I wasn’t sure what to expect given the low price point of £119.99 but as I indicated in my first impressions, I have nothing but good things to say about this Windows Phone.  It snappy and the display is excellent and if there is only one knock on it it would be the low end 5MP camera.  But it isn’t terrible – I’ve seen far worse.  If you are looking for a solid phone at a great price, look no further than the Lumia 635.

I have enjoyed getting back into the Windows Phone community and part of that enjoyment has come from listening to readers and colleagues in the community on all the devices that are out there today.  If there is a phone size with particular features or budget point, chances are there is a Windows Phone for you to fit the need.  I’ve been fortunate this week to not have just one but two Nokia Lumia phones in house to review.  The first is the Lumia 1320, the budget minded Phablet.  Make not mistake:  The 1320, like it’s big brother the 1520, is huge.  But it is also very feature rich, taking full advantage of that massive 6″ display and the battery life is unbelievable.

Having spent a few days with the Lumia 1320 I’ve got a good first impression of the device and while a full review will be coming next week, I wanted to give readers a preview and my overall impressions after a few days.

The 4.3-inch screen is absolutely gorgeous, the speed increase is extremely welcome in the processor intensive games, and the camera works very nicely. The excellent battery life is sure to make your Android and iPhone friends jealous as well.
