Windows Mobile Case SolutionsFor some Windows Mobile device users, a slip case simply does not meet the need. This is especially true of those who travel frequently and need to take cables, A/C adapters and other items with them. For those of you who fit this category, the RoadWired PDA/Phone Organizer could be the answer for you. Designed to hold your device, cellular phone or Smartphone, Windows Mobile device, cables and accessories, the PDA/Phone Organizer is an all-in-one case solution for your mobile computing needs. RoadWired is based in Rochester, NY and has for many years been a standard in laptop luggage. It is clear that RoadWired used their knowledge of what mobile computer users need and applied it to their PDA/Phone Organizer. The case is full of 15 compartments to hold items but closes to a slim 10" x 7" zipper case. The PDA/Phone Organizer is constructed from ballistic nylon with closed cell phone padding underneath on all sides of the case's exterior. This provides a soft but firm feel to the case and close cell padding is one of the best energy absorbing materials available. The quality of the material is good and it doesn't feel "cheap". Indeed it feels and looks like it could withstand the rigors of the mobile life with no problems. On the front of the case is a Velcro secured flap which opens up to expose the "trap door" named, appropriately enough, the PhoneBooth. The PhoneBooth is genius in my book. From it you can access your cellular phone or Smartphone without having to open the case itself! All you do is pull on the Velcro closed front flap and retrieve your phone. It is a great "attention to detail" aspect of this case and shows the road warrior conscious thought from RoadWired.
The inside of the case is laid out well with the various pockets and loops easy to access. Dominating the inside back of the case is the PDA Velcro attachment pad. This adhesive pad attaches to the back of your PDA so you can store your device here without it sliding about inside the case. The pad is big enough to fit any PDA and can be trimmed down to fit your device should you need to do so. To put it into perspective, the pad is as big as my Dell x51v Pocket PC which is one of the bigger devices available. The only problem with this type of attachment system is if you decide to remove the adhesive pad from your device it can leave a sticky residue. This can be cleaned (carefully) but some owners may not like this approach. Still, in a case like this, it is the most effective way to both secure your device in the case while providing easy access to it when the case is open.
Behind the PDA pad is a large storage slot where cables or papers can be folded and stored. Along the spine of the inside of the case are several elastic loops. These are great for storing pens, cables, AA battery charger, etc. On the front inside of the case is the back door for the PhoneBooth on the front. The slot is big enough to hold most cellular phones and Smartphones. I did find you can put smaller Pocket PC Phones in there as well but getting them out of the trap door in a hurry is a bit of a challenge. There is also three card slots for credit cards or storage cards, a ID window for a business card and a top pocket for cables and an A/C adapter. When you look at the outside of the PDA/Phone organizer it is deceiving. It doesn't look like it could hold nearly as much as it can in actuality.
If you need more than a slip case for your Windows Mobile device then the RoadWired PDA/Phone Organizer should be a strong option. It has plenty of storage for all must have accessories for your device and is in a stylish, sleek package. The construction is solid and it is clear that RoadWired intended this case to protect your investment while making it functional at the same time. Additionally, for those who are considering this case for mass deployment within your organization, RoadWired does have customizations available such as branding. Contact RoadWired directly for information on this option. The cases from RoadWired are great and super for those who travel. I have used my organizer on my last couple of trips and it along with the Cable Stable are permanent parts of my travel bag now!
