This morning at IFA in Berlin, Microsoft has been busy. They have announced several new things including the all new Lumia 830 Windows Phone. A slim 5″ display device, the Lumia 830 comes packed with features including an impressive 10MP PureView camera and wireless charging. The 830 is the successor to the 820 and is expected to ship later this month for around €330 or $430. While the 820 was never a world beater, Microsoft certainly is aiming the 830 to be with a good mix of advanced features without the massive high end price tag.
Here are the specifications of the Lumia 830:
- Primary camera sensor size: 10 MP, PureView
- Secondary camera (front facing): HD .9MP Wide Angle
- Display size: 5”
- Display resolution: HD720 (1280 x 720)
- Processor name: Snapdragon 400 Quad-Core 1.2GHz
- Maximum talk time (3G): 14.8h
- Battery capacity: 2200mAh
- Wireless charging: Built-in (Qi standard)
- Bluetooth 4.0
It will come in a variety of colours and the backs are swappable to change with your mood.
The Lumia 830 is a slim device coming in at only 8.5mm thin and weighing it at 150g. The 5″ display from all reports is super sharp and high resolution, something that the 820 lacked and was noticed. The biggest selling factor though is going to be the 10MP PureView camera. This puts it ahead of many Android devices and the current iPhone (although that’s likely to change next week). With the power and richness of the Lumia camera & photography apps, its almost a double dip for users. Keep in mind that the optics in the 830 are ZEISS, something normally reserved for the higher end Lumia’s.
The Lumia 830 will come loaded with Windows Phone 8.1. You can check out everything there is on the Lumia 830 on the Nokia Site.
