Microsoft has released updates to four of the MSN apps for Windows 8.1 today but as has become the norm for these updates, there is scantly any information on what has been changed or updated in these apps. The updates impact MSN Weather, MSN Money, MSN Health & Fitness and MSN Sports. The updates, which only appear to be on the Windows 8.1 side and not on the Windows Phone side (not yet at least), have no release notes or change logs, leaving it to our collective imagination as to what has changed.
The update likely contains bug fixes and improvements in performance. Those are generally the catch-all terms used to describe a small incremental update to these apps. However it could also be that Microsoft is preparing these MSN apps for Windows for the upcoming Windows 10 for Phone preview to assure they work smoothly on the preview which is due any time now.
If you are running any of the MSN apps for Windows, hit the Windows Store on your PC or tablet and get the updates. If you want to try the MSN apps, now is as good a time as any.
