AT&T Also Shipping The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Early

Following the move by T-Mobile, AT&T has also started shipping the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to customers who pre-ordered the flagship devices.  AT&T customers who placed their order for one of the devices are reporting that they have received shipping notices and devices this week.  T-Mobile was the first to do this with the new S7’s, with shipping notices going out on Monday of this week and some customers receiving the devices already.

It would seem at least one visitor to ClintonFitch.com has a Galaxy S7 as it is showing up in my Google Analytics report for the site. While it isn’t clear which carrier the device was using, the fact it is showing up (yesterday) is probably the best indicator that people are indeed receiving the devices.

Both of the new S7’s received a huge amount of attention at MWC at the end of February, with both seen as a nice evolutionary step over the previous Galaxy S6 lineup.  Both are packed with features and the specs are awesome. Identical in almost every way to the Edge, the Galaxy S7 has impressive specs.  It is powered with a quad-core 2.15 GHz on 2 cores and 1.6 GHz on the other two.  It has 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB of storage with expansion up to an additional 200GB thanks to the MicroSD slot.  The S7 has a 5.1″ Quad-HD Super AMOLED display that renders at 2560 x 1440 resolution and 577 PPI.

The rear camera is an impressive 12MP f/1.7 shooter with OIS while the front camera is a 5MP that is also f/1.7.  Battery wise, the S7 has a slightly smaller battery than the Edge at 3000 mAh but it also supports fast charging and wireless Qi charging.  The Galaxy S7 will be running Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box and features NFC, a fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac support and Bluetooth 4.2 LE.

If you pre-ordered your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge from AT&T (or T-Mobile for that matter) and have received your shipping notice or the device itself, do drop a note here in the comments or on Google+.  And tell me what you think of your shiny new toy! 🙂
