Google Search Adds Campaign Finance Info

In case you haven’t noticed, here in the United States, we are in the middle of a Presidential election campaign.  It is hotly contested and regardless of where you stand with any particular candidate, campaign financing is always a hot topic.  Now Google Search can get you the information on any candidate and how they (and who) has been funding their campaign.  The nice thing here is that it is completely unbiased.  The information Google is serving up is from the Center for Responsible Politics and they simply report facts.  No bias, no pick-your-wing-conspiracies.  Just financial facts.

The feature is rolling out now and everyone in the US should see this pretty soon.  All you need to do is enter the candidates name along with “campaign finance” and you will get the information right within Search on your phone. So you can put in “Bernie Sanders Campaign Finances” or “Donald Trump Campaign Finances” and you will get that information that includes which

SuperPACs are supporting them, how much of their funding is self funding, what groups have been supporting them and the like.  There is actually a lot of information.

There is also a new search trends for each of the candidates.  Just put in their name and you will get the search trending information for that candidate in the results.

Regardless of where you stand on this election cycle, this type of information is handy and could help you in your decision making process.
