Reminder: Chrome Support for Windows XP, Vista and Older OS X Ends April 1st

A friendly reminder for those of you who use the Chrome browser on older versions of Windows or OS X that starting 1st April they will no longer be supported.  I posted on this announcement back in November when Google outlined that they would no longer be supporting older versions of the Operating Systems due in part to the fact that Microsoft and Apple have stopped supporting these legacy versions of the OS too.

If you are running any of the following versions of Windows or OS X, you will not be seeing update to Chrome any longer:

  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista

    Google Chrome for PC

    Google Chrome for PC

  • OS X 10.6
  • OS X 10.7
  • OS X 10.8

If you are running any of these versions, you will start seeing a warning that the OS is no longer supported

This computer will no longer receive Google Chrome updates because Windows XP and Windows Vista are no longer supported

What is a bit interesting in all this is that it seems that Google has pulled the ripcord on support a few days early.  I posted this morning about the latest update to the browser this morning but at least one user is seeing this new warning on his Windows Vista machine.  It would see that the latest build of the browser is no longer supported, 3 days earlier than planned.
