AT&T Releases Android Marshmallow for the Galaxy Note 5

Let’s all give AT&T a slow clap.  It only took them three months after every other carrier released it but they finally have dropped Android Marshmallow on the Galaxy Note 5 for their customers.  Well done.

The OTA update for Marshmallow 6.0 is huge at 1.4GB so be prepared to wait a while for the download.  Once you get the update, it will take 20-30 minutes to install and your phone will reboot.  As always, I highly recommend that you have all your files and photos backed up before you begin the update process.

The update comes some three months after similar updates were made to the Note 5 by T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint

and 9 months after Marshmallow was released by Google.  While I am critical of all carriers and the time it takes to get these updates out, AT&T is clearly leads the way in taking forfrickinever to get an update out to their customers.

Okay, enough bitching.

Right, if you get the update on your Note 5 you are going to get a lot of benefits from Marshmallow and some tweaks to Touchwiz if you use it.  This is a nice update and well worth your time in downloading it.
