Amazon Jumps Into The Streaming Music Fray

If the streaming music options available to you weren’t enough, Amazon has decided to jump into the game.  The company announced their new Music Unlimited service, a streaming service that gives you access to millions of songs that you can stream from your computer, Android or iOS device.  Like many other services, you can download the music to your device for playing offline.  There are, however, some uniquely Amazon elements to the service which could make it an attractive alternative for some, especially those who are deep within the Amazon services ecosystem.

First is the pricing.  For Prime customers, the cost is $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year.  For non-PrimeAmazon Music app for Android customers, it is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year.  These plans give you access to the service on all your devices.  If, however, you only want to stream music at home on your Echo or Echo Dot, you can do that for just $3.99 per month.  That allows you to stream to just one device so if you have multiples, you will only be able to fire up the service on them one at a time.  Finally, there is the $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year family plan.  That gives up to six members of your family access to the service on their devices.

Price wise, it is reasonably competitive to other services that are out there but to make sure you like it, Amazon is offering a free 30 day trial to the service to check it out.  For more information and to get all the details on the various plans, visit the Music Unlimited site at Amazon.
