Upcoming Huawei Mate 10 to Have Continuum Like Feature

One of the more anticipated final phone releases of 2017 happens on October 16th.  That is when we will see the Huawei Mate 10 and P11 be released.  There are a lot of rumors floating about on both devices, especially the Mate 10, but it looks like two of these rumors are firming up.

First, Huawei is going to be putting a lot of emphasis on AI in their Android build for the Mate 10, EMUI 6, with a teaser video on Twitter suggesting that the phone will “see”, “think” and “learn” as it is used.

Huawei has been working on their AI for a while now and it is improving.  In the Mate 10 however, it could be their biggest leap yet.

The other big rumor on the Huawei Mate 10 is a Continuum like functionality.  For those who may not know, Continuum was a feature in Windows Phone 10 that would allow you to connect your phone to an external display and provide you a more desktop like experience.  Connecting Android-based phones to external monitors isn’t new nor a real big deal but you usually just get a big version of your phone’s Home screen.

By leveraging Miracast, Huawei plans to provide a desktop experience when you connect the Mate 10 to an external monitor.  The idea being that you could have just your phone with you and still be able to do a reasonable amount of productive work with it.

Continuum was one of the coolest features that Windows Phone 10 had and you can still see it in the HP Elite phone.  It is great to see this idea coming to Android devices beyond Samsung’s DeX solution.
