Official PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics App Now Available

The official app for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics has hit the Play Store today.  The app, sponsored by Samsung, gives news and information on the games as they happen as well as local information on moving around the venues and city in South Korea.  The 2018 Games start in 23 days on February 9th.

While the app currently is giving news and information about the Games, city and venues, when the Olympics get started, news and information about specific events will be there along with results and medal standings.

The app is aimed to complement the official IOC Olympics app, which is also free in the Play Store, but provides more localized information such as location based transportation information, a cheering feature for each event, cultural programs and tourism information and ticket information.

Over the course of the past several summer and winter games, the host city has developed an app for this very purpose, partly to help people attending the Games but also for a bit of cultural education and tourism information.
Even if you are not planning on attending the games in person, if you are a fan of the Olympics, be sure to download the PyeongChang app to learn more about the Korean culture, the city and, of course, more about the Olympics themselves.
