Lenovo Announces Three New Education Focused Chromebooks

At Mobile World Congress today, Lenovo has announced an expansion of their education ready Chromebooks.  The company introduced the 100e, 300e and 500e devices with the entry level 100e starting at just $219.  All three devices are ruggedized and two of the models have touchscreens.

The 100e is the entry level model and is the only non-touchscreen device.  It is powered by a dual-core Celeron N3350 CPU with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and an 11.6″ display.   It has two USB 3.0 ports as well as two USB-C ports for charging.

The Lenovo 300e is a reasonable step up from the 100e as it adds a touchscreen to the mix.  It is powered by the MediaTek MTK 8173C SoC, has 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and the same 11.6″ display.  Port wise, it has one USB 3.0 port, one USB-C port and adds an HDMI out port.  It will be priced at $279 and will be available later this month.

Finally is the 500e.  This model is powered by the quad-core Celeron N3450U Processor, and has 4GB of RAM.  Storage wise, it also has 32GB like the 100e and 300e.  It has the same 11.6″ touchscreen display as the 300e but it comes with a stylus and there is a dock for it in the chassis of the Chromebook.  There are two USB 3.0 ports and two USB-C ports.  This model will start out at $309.

If you are interested in these models, you can get them from Lenovo directly or work with your Google Education partner.
