YouTube TV Coming to Roku Devices

YouTube TV is soon to be an option on Roku devices, including Roku enabled TVs and the companies dedicated streaming boxes.  It will be an app that subscribers to Google’s TV service can access a channel guide and watch content.

YouTube TV was launched last year and the $35/month television streaming service has done well.  Google reports over 300,000 subscribers since its April 2017 launch which may not sound like much, but given the limited markets that are available, it is pretty impressive.  The addition of the service on Roku streaming devices should help grow that number further.

Google is expecting to launch the app for Roku devices in the first quarter of this year so we still have a little bit of time before it actually is available to users.  The addition will give “cord cutters” yet another option as Google’s service will join the likes of Hulu and Sling TV on Roku devices.  The streaming television services market is highly competitive and will be an interesting one to watch over the coming few years.

YouTube TV is a $35/month service that gives you access to over 40 channels with premium channel options available.  There is a free trial for those that want to give it a go but it is not available in all areas.  There is no contract and you can cancel the service at any time.  For more details, head to the service’s site.
