After the initial release earlier this week, the Chromium team has already released a second Chrome 67 build for the Chrome OS Dev Channel. The new build is 67.0.3381.0 (Platform version: 10525.0.0) for those keeping score at home and should be rolling out to devices in what is essentially the Alpha testing channel already.
For those who have Chromebooks in the Dev channel, you can manually check for the update by typing chrome://help in the browser bar and checking for the update.
The focus of this update is mostly bug fixing from the first alpha build and you can expect to see more of these over the coming weeks.
With Chrome 67, there are expected to be a number of changes to the platform. These include a new keyboard shortcut viewer, a new power menu, the move of the virtual keyboard to a floating keyboard by default, lock screen notifications and a new account manager. Yeah, it’s chock full of stuff and that likely means it will be updated a lot as it resides in the Chrome OS Dev Channel.
Chrome 67 is next expected to hit the Chrome OS Stable Channel until June 5th, so there is a lot of time for testing in the Dev Channel and later in the Beta Channel. As a reminder, the Dev Channel is not recommend for running on production Chromebooks. It is considered Alpha code and can be quite buggy at times.
