Download The HTC 10 Wallpapers

While we are still a few weeks away from the launch of the new HTC 10 from HTC, the leaks around this device have been, well, more like a stream than a leak.  When it does launch on April 12th, I suspect there won’t be much mystery to it over than the final specs of the camera (which have been touted as “world class” by HTC) and the price.  One thing you don’t have to wait on however are the wallpapers from the device.  The stock four wallpapers that are coming on the device are right here and ready for download.

Today over at the HTC site, you can pick up a great deal on an Android phone and tablet combo.  Through today, when you purchase a One M9 Android phone, the company is giving you a free Nexus 9 tablet.  The promotion will make the total price of both down to $649, some $399 off the price if you were to buy them separately.  That’s a great deal on two great devices, both of which are upgradable to Android Marshmallow.

HTC One A9 Now Seeing January Marshmallow Update

Owner of the unlocked variety of the HTC One A9 should start seeing the January Android Marshmallow update hitting their devices starting today.  The news comes from the companies Vice President of Product Management, Mo Versi, via Twitter earlier this morning.

The update comes about 3 weeks after the update was released from Google as HTC continues to push to be one of the fastest manufactures out with Android Marshmallow updates.

HTC Marshmallow Updates Coming To Many Next Week

Owners of the HTC One M8 and One M9 have a lot to look forward to next week according to Mo Versi, the company’s Vice President of Product Management.  In a series of Tweets over the weekend, he announced that the One M9 running on Rogers, Sacktel, Videotron and Wind in Canada will see the Android Marshmallow update hit their devices this week.

The news is certainly welcome and is another example of how HTC is really pushing to get the latest version of Android out to devices quickly.  We all know that the unlocked One A9 receives updates within 15 days of their release from Google.  The company however committed to having updates out for the One M8 and One M9 in the first quarter of 2016.  Looks like they will reach that goal in the first month of the quarter.

There is some good news for those of you based in the US as well on updates.

HTC One A9 Marshmallow 6.0.1 Update Released

HTC has started pushing out the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update to the One A9 today and owners of unlocked variants here in the US should already see the update starting to hit their phone.  The news came via the Twitter account of HTC’s Mo Versi and certainly is welcome news to owners of both the One A9 as well the One M9 which is seeing the 6.0 update roll out.

When the A9 was released, HTC committed to having Marshmallow updates out to the device within 15 days of them being released by Google.  While they are hitting the 15 day… ish mark on those releases, they are a far cry better than many other OEMs out there.  Indeed new phones being announced are still coming with Lollipop on them.

If you are curious as to what is new in the 6.0.1 update, you can read about it here and of course my review of Android Marshmallow is available at this link.

HTC One A9 on AT&T Sees Android December Update

If you are a HTC One A9 owner on AT&T, it is a good day for you.  HTC’s Mo Versi announced on Twitter last night that the December Android Marshmallow update is now starting to roll out to your device.

When they released the One A9, HTC committed to having updates out for the device 15 days after they were released from Google.  So far, they are sticking to their promise but what makes this interesting is that AT&T is involved.  The commitment from HTC was that the updates would be released for unlocked devices, not those tied to carriers.  With AT&T getting the update out just days after it was released from Google, it would seem that the carrier is working hard to get device updates out quicker, something they have sorely lacked in the past.

HTC One A9 Security Update Rolling Out

HTC is making good on their promise and keeping the new One A9 up to date with security fixes.  Just three weeks after Google released the latest update to Android Marshmallow, unlocked US-based One A9 owners are getting the latest update rolled out to their phones via an OTA update.  It is a far cry from other vendors, including HTC themselves on other devices, that take months to roll out a security update.

If you are in the US and have a One A9, the update was approved over the weekend and has started rolling out.  How fast it will take for your device to see it is not clear but it should be pretty quick.  HTC doesn’t have the same staged roll out process as Google does on their Nexus devices and second, quite frankly, there are not a lot of One A9’s in the wild.  My guess is you should see it by mid-week if you haven’t already (but that’s my opinion, not fact).
