Over the weekend, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro became available for pre-order from several retailers, including Amazon. The $799 flagship phone will ship on February 18th and if you buy it at Amazon, you get a $150 Amazon gift card with it. Not a bad deal.
As with previous Huawei phones, the Mate 10 Pro will come with a selection of EMUI themes that are unique to it – for now. As these things go, it doesn’t take much to extract these stock themes and now you can download them yourself for your current Huawei or Honor phone. In all, there are 9 themes that come on the phone and you can download the files here in one ZIP file.
In order for these themes to work, you have to have a Honor or Huawei phone that is running EMUI 4 or later. If you haven’t added themes to your phone, here are the steps:
- Download the zip file to your PC or Mac and extract the files. There will be 9 .hwt files when you are done.
- Copy those nine files to your Huawei or Honor phone. My recommendation is to use Google Drive as you can easily download them from there without having to mess with SD cards.
- Once you have the files on your phone, open up the Files app and navigate to the Downloads folder (where they would be if you use Google Drive to download them as described above). Select all of the files then press “Move” on the bottom navigation bar.
- Navigate your way to Local>Internal Storage>HWThemes. Move the files to this folder by pressing the “move” icon again.
The themes should now appear in the Themes app. Select the one you want to use and apply it. Here is my P10 with the default Stone theme from the Mate 10 Pro.
Enjoy! And remember, if you are just looking for wallpapers, head over to the Wallpaper page here on the site.
