The already budget friendly Lumia 520 is now even more so at the Microsoft store. Today you can get the phone without any contract requirements from AT&T for only $29. Normally it is $59 so you are getting about a 50% discount on it. Kind of a no-brainer really if you want to have a inexpensive phone for a family member or as a backup phone for yourself.
The AT&T Windows Phone options for customers and those looking to move to the carrier will take a nice step forward this week. Yesterday the carrier announced that the Microsoft Lumia 830 and HTC One M8 Windows Phone will both be making their debut on the their network on Friday, November 7th. Customers will have the choice of no less than four Windows Phone devices with AT&T, with the Lumia 635 and Lumia 1520 to the lineup.
The team over at WPCentral are covering the CTIA event in Las Vegas in the United States this week. Yesterday Microsoft’s Stephen Elop stated that the recently announced Lumia 830 will be in the United States on AT&T by this holiday season. This is great news and certainly news that will make Windows Phone fans in the US happy. The Lumia 830 has all the makings of being successful and getting into a market as big as the US – where Windows Phone ironically is struggling the most – could very much dictate the success of the phone.
For those of you on AT&T Wireless, the Dallas-based carrier has released a major and much needed update to their myWireless app for Windows Phone. I say it was much needed because frankly, the first release was so buggy and provided such little information when it did run that the app was useless. That is not the case any longer.
The new 2.0 version brings significant stability to the app along with providing more granular information about your billing, minutes and data usage. Plus you can pay your bill and review the features that you have set on your AT&T account.
