The official app for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics has hit the Play Store today.  The app, sponsored by Samsung, gives news and information on the games as they happen as well as local information on moving around the venues and city in South Korea.  The 2018 Games start in 23 days on February 9th.

While the app currently is giving news and information about the Games, city and venues, when the Olympics get started, news and information about specific events will be there along with results and medal standings.

Samsung Announces a Limited Edition Galaxy Note8 for Olympians at the Winter Games

Samsung has announced that a new limited edition model of the Galaxy Note8 will be made available to athletes and International Olympic Committee (IOC) members for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang next month.

In collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG), Samsung will deliver over 4,000 devices to all Olympians as well as the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic family, including IOC and POCOG staff allowing them to lean on Samsung mobile technology to enhance their experiences and connect more conveniently.

This isn’t the first games that Samsung has provided devices to athletes as they did the same in Rio De Janeiro.

Google Search Providing Detailed Info for the Rio 2016 Games

With the Rio 2016 Olympic games starting on August 5th, this coming Friday, the need for information and results always goes up and Google Search could be your answer.  Google has announced that Google Search on your Android phone has been updated behind-the-scenes to provide a wealth of information about the games as they happen in Rio.  The good news is this is all done on Google’s end – you don’t have to update your app on your phone.

On Google, searching for information about your favorite athletes and sports, the medal race, or your country’s schedule has never been easier. Pro tip: if you search on the Google app on Android and iOS, you’ll also see an option to get automatic updates on top event and medal wins, so you’ll never miss a beat.

With these changes, Google Search could well be your one-stop to get news and information about what is going on in Rio 2016 and your country’s athletes at the games this year.
