A fifth and likely final Chrome 67 based build has arrived this morning in the Chrome OS Beta Channel.  Build 67.0.3396.69 (Platform version: 10575.52.0) was released this morning for the majority of devices in the channel and don’t be surprised if this is the build that we see land in the Stable Channel next week.

Chrome 67 is expected to be available in the Stable Channel on June 5th.  With that date only four days away, it’s likely best to consider this .69 build as a Release Candidate and not necessarily a beta build.

Following the release of the Chrome 67 update for desktops, the Chrome for Android update has now too been updated to the latest build of Chrome.  Build 67.0.3396.68 was released earlier today and it will take a few days for everyone’s Play Store account to be updated so it can be downloaded.

The update brings a lot of security fixes and overall improvements to the browser along with a new generic sensor API which adds gyroscope support for augmented reality as well as the new Credentials Management API.  Of course, on the desktop version, the bigger news was the full fledged support of Progressive Web Apps in Chrome.

The latest beta build of Chrome OS has landed in the Chrome OS Beta Channel.  Build 67.0.3396.57 (Platform version: 10575.47.0) is now rolling out to those of you who have a Chromebook in the Beta Channel and it represents the fourth Chrome 67 based build for the channel.

As a reminder, the Beta Channel is the last step before a Chrome OS build gets released to the Stable Channel.  The Stable channel is the channel most used by Chromebook users and is the officially supported channel for the platform.

As expected, the Chromium team at Google has released a new beta build for the Chrome OS Beta Channel.  The update is the third beta for the channel as it is prepared for release early next month.  The update is build 67.0.3396.49 (Platform version: 10575.40.0) for those keeping score at home and is available for most devices in the channel.  The update arrived on my Acer Chromebook 15 this morning so most users should be able to upgrade to it now.

For those new to Chrome OS, the Beta Channel is the last stop before a build of the platform is released to the public Standard Channel.  Generally there are three to five beta builds before a release.  Timing wise, we probably have one more beta build to go before it is released.

A second Chrome 67 based build has arrived in the Chrome for Android Beta app.  The app update, which is now live in the Google Play Store, is build 67.0.3396.42.  Unlike other beta builds of apps in the Play Store, you don’t have to join a beta program to try it out on your phone.  Just download it here and you can run it at the same time that you run the stable version on your device.

To a large extent, Chrome 67 is a bit of a maintenance release with not a lot of new features expected.  The only real notable change is the Home button near the omni bar at the top of the display.

As the Chromium team within Google continues to prep the next release of Chrome OS, a new build of Chrome 67 has arrived in the Chrome OS Beta Channel.  Build 67.0.3396.41 (Platform version: 10575.32.0) is now available for devices and is the second Chrome 67 based build to be available to testers with devices in the channel.

As a reminder to those new to Chrome OS, the Beta Channel is the last stop before a build gets released to the publicly used Stable Channel.  Chrome 67 is expected to be released on our around June 5, 2018.  That means we likely have a couple of more beta builds coming before it is released.
