With the 2016 NASCAR season kicking off this weekend in Daytona, Florida, it seems only appropriate that one of the top racing simulator games for Android be updated to get you in on the action.  Real Racing 3 received a healthy update yesterday that allows you to compete in the Daytona 500, considered the “Super Bowl” of stock car racing, and earn four iconic cars from the series.  The update also allows you to race alongside current NASCAR drivers such as Joey Logano and Kevin Harvick and you can compete in The gauntlet to earn a limited edition Richard Petty throwback Ford Fusion.

Angry Birds 2, the sequel to the hugely popular original Angry Birds, has received another update today, bringing with it all new levels and… water?  That’s right, for the first time in the game you now have under water levels to contend with as you continue your pig popping efforts in the game.  As the story line goes, Oh noes! Cobalt Plateaus has been totally flooded! We’re going subaquatic in a new Chapter brimming with water and amphibious pigs. CANNONBALL!  So now when you get to the Cobalt Plateaus you not only have to deal with getting your aim right to destroy the evil pigs but you get to do it through water.

Real Racing 3, arguably one of the best racing simulators for mobile platforms, has received another big update this month that brings a whole host of new cars, challenges and events.  Amongst those update is the new Lamborghini Huracana LP 610-4 which for most of us, let’s be honest, is the closest we will ever get to driving the real thing.  Not a Lambo fan? No problem as you can also try your driving skills in an Aston Martin Vulcan, Koenigsegg Regera and the McLaren MP4-12C Spyder.

If you are looking to drive a hyper-car, this game has it for you.

This update to Real Racing 3 is big at 48MB but certainly not as big as some of the updates in the past.  Still, you will want to make sure you are on Wi-Fi to do the download so you don’t eat up your data plan.  For those keeping score at home, this update take the game to version 4.0.3.

Rovio has posted an update to Angry Birds 2 that brings a new pig to pop along with 20 new levels to play.  The sequel to the hugely popular original Angry Birds is a different take on the original, bringing improved physics, multiple stages within each level and an area playing are a where you can hone your pig popping skills. This is the 4th update to the game since its release back in July so the Rovio team, as they have done with other versions of the games in the franchise, is keeping things up-to-date and adding new content regularly.

The update, which is available now in the Google Play Store, is version 2.3.0 for those keeping score at home and it is a free download for those who haven’t tried it yet. As you would expect, the game is a Freemium model so there are some adverts in the game and several in-app purchases available.

The Google Play Store has just launched a .10 Cent sale on a dozen games for Android phones and tablets.  The games feature multiple titles for Chillingo but also have a few from Electronic Arts.  If you have wanted to pick up a few games to try out, now is a good time for sure.  There is no word on how long the sale will be lasting so if you want pick up any of the games listed after the break, better jump on it now.

Google Play Store .10 Cent Game Sale

With Halloween fast approaching, the team at Rovio have not let Angry Birds 2 players down.  A new update to the sequel to the popular pig-popping game is now in the Google Play Store and it brings a new area to play, Snotting Hill.  In the release notes, the new level is described as slimy and slippery so that should give players a clue of what to expect once you reach this new level.  The update is version 2.2.1 for those keeping score at home and it is available now in the Play Store.  The game is free but as you would expect in this day of Freemium, there are in-app purchases you can make (although I’ve been play since it has been released and not spent any real money on it yet – it’s pretty easy to not spend money on it.
