Three of the MSN apps for Windows Phone have seen updates but unlike previous updates, we actually get a clue as to what was added or fixed!  The MSN Sports, MSN Travel and MSN Weather for Windows Phone apps have all seen updates that bring either performance improvements or bug fixes to each of them.  The updates, version 3.1.4.487 for MSN Travel and MSN Weather apps and 3.1.4.486 for the MSN Sports app for those keeping score at home, are available now in the Windows Phone store.  As these are all universal apps by definition in our Windows 8.1 world, these updates likely will make their way to the Windows App Store as well.  As of this writing, only MSN Travel was listed as an update.

For MSN Sports, the update squarely focuses on performance improvements in this update. What exactly was done to the app to improve the performance is not laid out in the Release Notes.

Microsoft has released a minor update to the MSN Apps for Windows Phone, bringing anything from bug fixes to minor improvements to the apps.  The new update across all the apps, version 3.1.4.481 for those keeping score at home, can all be found in the Windows Phone Store.  The apps impacted are MSN Health & Fitness, MSN Money, MSN News, MSN Sports, MSN Travel and MSN Weather.

Overnight the MSN apps for Windows Phone were updated and you should see those notifications on your device now.  What was updated?  That’s a great question.  It is a complete mystery as there are no release notes in the app notes for them.  This isn’t the first time this has happened.  If you remember back in October we got a similar update of mystery.

Microsoft has updated all of the MSN apps for Windows Phone today and I have absolutely no clue what changed in any of them 🙂

Every one of the MSN apps for Windows Phone has been updated with a small bump in each of their build numbers.  However, the release notes are non-existent so there is no clear indication of what changed in any of them.  One thing I have noticed is that all of the apps are Universal apps for Windows and Windows Phone – but I could have simply missed that in the past.

If you have automatic app updates enabled then you likely have already received these new updates on your Windows Phone for the apps that you have installed.  If you don’t have automatic updates enabled, go to the Windows Phone Store on your device, go to More>Settings and tap the Check for Updates button to force a check for updates on all of your apps.
