Google Maps add 360-Degree Photos to Locations

The latest update to Google Maps is rolling out and with it comes the addition of 360-degree photos when you look at a location.  The update you are looking for is version 9.23.1 for those keeping score at home and should be coming to you via an OTA update if you have the app installed.  The only major change in this update is the addition of 360-degree images.

Google Camera Update Essentially The Camera App in Android N

Google has released an update to the Google Camera app for Android devices that, effectively, is the camera app that will be in Android N.  It brings a wealth of new features including the ability to take stills while recording video. The update is build 3.2.042 for those keeping score at home and it has been released into the Google Play Store.  If you have the app installed, the OTA update should come to you in the next few days.

Google Drive Update Brings File Level Offline Sync with Your PC

Google Drive is rolling out an update to the web side of the service that will allow you to chose on a file-by-file level, the files that you sync with your PC for offline use.  The ability to sync files with your PC has been there for a while with the Google Drive app for PC or Mac but that is an all or nothing proposition at the file level.  You can select folders but you will get every file in that folder.  While this update is only on the web side of Drive, with it you can select an individual file to sync with your PC for offline use.

Galaxy S6 Edge+ on T-Mobile Starting To See Android Marshmallow

It has been a busy week for T-Mobile and it is only Tuesday!  Today the US-based carrier started the roll out of the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for customers who have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ on their network.  The update, build G928TUVU2DPD1 for those keeping score at home, is a typical hefty update at 1.3GB.  You will have to be on Wi-Fi in order to download it to your  S6 Edge+ and as is always the case, the update requires a restart of your phone and should take between 10-20 minutes to complete.

OneNote Update Lets You Try Without An Account

Microsoft has released an interesting update to OneNote, their note taking app and service for Android.  In this latest update, version 15.1.6821.4825 for those keeping score at home, you can now use the app without having to sign up for a Microsoft account.  The idea of course is to encourage people to try out the app without forcing them to sign up for a Microsoft account first.  Given that Microsoft is making a big push to move people from Evernote to OneNote, it somewhat makes sense.
