Sprint CEO Confirms LG V30+ Coming Soon

Yesterday at IFA in Berlin, LG announced their new flagship, the LG V30.  The stock V30 will come with 64GB of storage on board while the V30+ will have 128GB of storage.  Otherwise, these are the same phones.  Now Sprint has confirmed that they will be carrying the LG V30+ once it hits the market in the October timeframe.

Sprint’s CEO Marcelo Claure, took to Twitter yesterday to confirm that the that the larger storage variant will be coming to the carrier.

Of course, the biggest question mark on all of this is when exactly Sprint (and other US carriers for that matter) will see the V30.

AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are all expected to carry the V30 but the question when and if they will carry the “+” version of the phone.  Nothing from the Tweet from Mr. Claure indicates that the LG V30+ is exclusive to Sprint so it is likely other carriers here in the US will have it as an option.  We’ll know for sure in a couple of weeks.

As a reminder, the LG V30 is 151.7 x 75.4 x 7.39mm &  weighs 158g.  That’s 5.97 x 2.96 x .29 inches & 5.57 ounces in old money.  The 6″ display is a QHD P-OLED display that renders 2880 x 1440 in a 18:9 ratio.  That gives you a very eye comforting 538ppi.    LG refers to the display as FullVision which is their term for a near bezel-less experience.  The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM.  This is coupled with either 64GB or 128GB (the V30+) of storage depending on the variant you pick up.  That storage can be expanded up to an additional 2TB thanks to the MicroSD slot.

The dual camera configuration on the back of the LG V30 is very similar to that which was found on the LG G6.  That is, it has a 16MP f/1.6 camera with 71° wide-angle lens and is coupled with a 13MP f/1.9 120° wide-angle lens.  On the front is a 5MP selfie camera.

Power is provided by the built-in 3300mAh battery which supports Quick Charge 3.0 and is recharged via the USB-C port on the phone.  NFC support is there as you would expect as well as Bluetooth 5.0.  It is also IP68 rated for water and dust protection.
