The Microsoft Lumia exclusive app, Lumia Cinemagraph, has been updated today with the ability to export your cinemagraphs to GIF files amongst other performance updates. For those who are not familiar with the app, Lumia Cinemagraph allows you to take photos and animate them. It’s a fun app – not particularly high on the useful scale – but does a great job. Until now exporting these was a bit of a trick but this update brings the Internet standard animated GIF support so sharing just became way easier.
The sharing of Lumia Cinemagraph creations are done via the Nokia servers so you will be sharing a link to your creation on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. The end results are in 720p
resolution and allows you to crossfade easily and use the handy color pop feature to have colors stand out in your files.
Along with the GIF export capability, Lumia Cinemagraph has also been updated with location data awareness so you have far better integration into the Lumia Storyteller app. There are also general performance improvements in this release.
The app is exclusive to Lumia owners so if you have a Samsung, LG or HTC Windows Phone you won’t be able to take advantage of this app.
The Lumia Cinemagraph app is free in the Windows Phone Store.
