The Avis app for Windows Phone has received a nice update today, bringing several improvements designed to make the app more user friendly. The update, version 220.127.116.11 for those keeping score at home, now allows you to stay logged into the app for up to 90 days. Previously you had to log in every time you used the app. That’s great for security but a real pain when you are trying to get your reservation information as you walk through an airport terminal.
In addition to the login changes, the overall UI has been updated to make navigation and finding your reservation information much easier. The Avis app for Windows Phone also supports Cortana
so you can open the app and see your reservation information. Finally, you can book cars through the app directly as well as get roadside assistance should you need it while you are renting your car. Here is a full rundown of the features from the Release Notes:
- Increased login time to 90 days – you will no longer be asked to log in every time you open the app.
- Added click to call phone number for Roadside Assistance.
- Date/Time native format – date and time will reflect native format based on locale settings.
- Use voice to open up app to show upcoming reservations, reserve a car and contact support screens.
- UI Improvements.
The Avis app for Windows Phone is free but you will need to have an Avis account to book reservations and view any reservations you may have with Avis.
