VLC For Windows Phone Updated with HD Video Playback Improvements

The VLC for Windows Phone app has seen another update today, this one losing the beta tag that it has had since last year and also improving the HD video playback in the app.  The update, version… wait for it… 2015.305.1538.3384 is now available in the Windows Phone Store.  Remember that VLC is now a Universal app for both Windows and Windows Phone and in both case, they are free.

The update to VLC for Windows Phone brings a few minor visual tweaks to the user experience and appears to focus heavily on improving HD video playback.  After the last release last month many

users had issues playing HD videos, me included.  The app would freeze or video would jump about and it was overall not a great experience.  This morning in testing this latest update, those issues seem to have been addressed.  Video playback was smooth on a 1080P video playback on my Lumia 1320

There are no specific things mentioned in the release notes of this update as to any other issues or fixes that are included.  I would recommend that that if you have VLC for Windows Phone installed on your Windows Phone that you update to this version if you had any playback issues.
