The Facebook for Android app has been updated today, bringing with it several new features including the ability to Like posts, photos and Pages even when you are offline. The update, version 220.127.116.11.15 for those keeping score at home, is available now in the Google Play store and of course is free. There are several new features in this release so it is certainly one to go get.
The big feature in this update to Facebook for Android is the ability to Like things while you are offline. This is great for those of use who update Facebook just before get go into Airplane Mode for a flight and we can then Like posts, photos and Pages while up-in-the-air (assuming you are on an archaic plane without Wi-Fi). Once you get back online your Likes will be uploaded to
Facebook for the world to see.
You can now remove tags you have created or tags of yourself that your friends have created with this update to the Facebook for Android app as well as turn post notifications on or off. These two features, until now, were something you had to do from the Facebook website so it is nice to see these features rolling onto the Android app.
Along with these new features are improvements within the app for speed and reliability. The release notes do not specifically state what is updated to improve these things.
