If Evan Blass is right, and he usually is, we can expect Android Wear 2.0 to launch on February 9th. Evan took to Twitter in the wee hours of this morning to tell everyone to mark their calendars and get ready for the release.

If you don’t follow Mr. Blass on Twitter, take a minute and do so. He is deadly accurate on most rumors and leaks and is a great source of information.
Android Wear 2.0 is a major step forward for the version of Android that drives wearables like smartwatches. Among the new features will be access to the Play Store from your wrist and stand alone apps for Wear, improved sign in on devices and all indications are that Google Assistant will be coming to it at some point too. These features, along with improvements in performance, should help the platform which had a lackluster 2016.
As for devices that are going to be able to upgrade to Android Wear 2.0, it is a short list.
- Moto 360 Gen 2
- Moto 360 Sport
- LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE
- LG Watch Urbane
- LG G Watch R
- Polar M600
- Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
- Nixon Mission
- Tag Heuer Connected
- Fossil Q Wander, Marshal and Founder
- Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch
- Huawei Watch (Men & Ladies)
- Asus ZenWatch 2 and ZenWatch 3
Look for more details as they become available but it looks like the wait for the improved Android Wear is nearly over.
