T-Mobile Already Preparing Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Shipments

It looks like those of you who ordered your new Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge from T-Mobile are going to get your shiny new toy a little early.  Various users on Reddit have reported that they have received shipping notices from the carrier with some devices shipping as early as today.  This is well ahead of the launch date of March 11th which I reported last week when pre-orders began.  The shipping dates appear to have been confirmed by T-Mobile reps with these Reddit users and there are big number of them reporting this.  It looks like it is a go.

ZTE Launches the Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite

It sports a 5.2″ display, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage along with a octa-core processor running at 1.3 GHz.  The V7 Lite will have a quad-core processor but will have the same 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It was also announced that the V7 will have a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.  Both devices will be running Android Marshmallow

Sony Announces The Xperia X Series

I will admit that these are the kinds of Press Release that make me a little crazy.  Sony at MWC today announced the new Xperia X series, a lineup of new Android phones that includes three new devices, the Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA, but there were scarcely any details given about the devices.  While the Xperia X Peformance will run a Snapdragon 802 processor and has a 5″ display, there is virtually nothing else known about these devices.  I’m sure as the day progresses we will get more details but to not have the basics in the Presser is… aye.

Alcatel Launches The POP Series of Android Phones

At MWC today, Alcatel made another device announcement this morning.  Yesterday they announced the new IDOL 4 and IDOL 4S while today they announced the even more budget friendly POP series.  In all, there are three devices in the POP series:  The POP 4, POP 4+ and the POP 4S.  The 4S is the premium version of the devices with a 13 MP rear camera and 5MP front while the 4 and 4+ have a 8 MP rear shooter. Likewise, you will find that the 4S has an octa-core processor while the 4 and 4+ have a quad-core.

Acer Liquid Jade 2 To Have 1TB of Hybrid Cloud Storage

AT Mobile World Congress today, Acer announced the Liquid Jade 2, a well appointed device that will be running the Snapdragon 808 processor, have 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 21MP camera.  But the really interesting part of the device is what the company is calling hybrid cloud storage.  The Liquid Jade 2 will comes with 1TB of such storage that the company states will “seamlessly integrate” with the device.  How exactly that integration will work is not 100% clear but it sounds strikingly similar on the surface at least to that of Nextbit and their new smartphone, Robin.

AT&T and Verizon To Carry The LG G5

With the LG G5 officially announced today at MWC 2016, the question many have asked is if the phone will come to the US.  The answer is a resounding yes.  Both AT&T and Verizon have announced that they will be carrying the new LG device later this Spring when it hits US shores.   Both companies will be carrying the device itself along with the modules that are available for it as well.  For their part, AT&T has already put up a pre-release page for the G5 on their site which promises more information is coming soon.
