Latest Microsoft SwiftKey Update Brings Significant Arabic Language Improvements

While it doesn’t get updated as often as the Office 365 suite of apps, Microsoft SwiftKey does see an update every couple of months on average and they tend to be sizable updates.  The update that the Redmond company released today for their Android keyboard app is no exception.  It brings a significant number of improvements with a heavy emphasis on improvements around Arabic.

The update is version is for those keeping score at home.  It is in the Play Store now and if you have the keyboard installed, you likely have the update waiting or it has been installed if you have Automatic Updates enabled.

SwiftKey Update Brings Support for Nine New Languages

There is a new update to Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard app rolling out today in the Play Store.  The update, version for those keeping score at home, brings support for nine new languages as well as a number of bug fixes.  It also brings support for Hiragana layout for Japanese language users.

As for the new languages, users of SwiftKey now have these new ones available:  Afar, Banjarese, Fulani, Gayo, Guarani, Madurese, Minangkabau, Nias, Bengkulu.  That brings the total number of languages supported by the keyboard app to well over 200.

SwiftKey Update Brings New Quick Paste Feature

Microsoft has released a new update to their SwiftKey keyboard app for Android.  The new build brings a handful of new features including a new Quick Paste feature.  This new feature allows you to copy text from your screen and it will be available to you in your prediction bar at the top of the keyboard.  This makes pasting that copied text quick and easy.

Along with the new Quick Paste feature, support for seven new languages are in this update.  Those languages are Chamorro, Ju|’hoan, Lisu, Palauan, Piedmontese, Sardinian & Scots.  Related to this, there are also new layouts available for Naratgul and VEGA
