Microsoft Announces the Office 2016 for Desktop Technical Preview

In a blog post this morning, Microsoft’s Office team has announced that the Office 2016 Technical Preview for IT Pro and Developer is now available.  While it is an early release and doesn’t contain all of the final features, updates are expected to be sent out on a monthly basis as more features, fixes and improvements become available.  The expansion of the testing into this area for Office 2016 is a good sign as it marks an important milestone for the release.  Like the Windows 10 beta, it is now at the point where real world input is needed which will help shape the final product later this year.

The Audible for Windows Phone Beta App Gets Another Update

A couple of weeks ago I told you about the new Audible for Windows Phone beta that is out and how even as a beta it is far superior to the current production app that is available.  Over the weekend the app received another update to address some issues but also to add a couple of options.  The updated, version 9.0.1.19 for those keeping score at home, is available now and while I don’t normally suggest you try beta software unless you know what you are getting into, this one is worth the download if you are an Audible customer.

The Ninja Cat Wallpapers for Windows Phone

So a funny thing happened this afternoon.  As I took a break from my Saturday goings on I snapped a screenshot of my Ninja Cat wallpaper on my Windows Phone and Tweeted it.  Why?  I kinda like it and with all the Ninja Cat fun stuff going around, I thought I’d throw my .02 cents into it.

What I DID NOT expect was the massive amounts of retweets and emails asking me for it.  So now that I’ve finished drinking my green beer for Saint Patty’s Day, I’ve posted them up on the Wallpaper page.  There are two versions – the blue one which I showed on my Lock screen in my Tweet and a white version.

Please note, I did not create these images.  I honestly don’t know who the author is but props to them for making them as they are great fun.  Actually, I do know now! Microsoft MVP Michael Gillett created them.  Thanks Michael – great stuff here!  You can see Michael’s original images and his other wallpapers on his site

Don’t forget to order your Ninja Cat shirt from the team over at Windows Central.

Get a Ninja Cat T-Shirt from Windows Central

Okay Windows Peeps, time to get in on the Ninja Cat craze and the team over at Windows Central has the ultimate answer.  Now in case you missed it, the Ninja Cat riding a unicorn carrying a Microsoft banner was on some of the Windows 10 team laptops when the Windows 10 for Phone preview launched.  It somewhat took a life of its own and there are even stickers of reported to be running around the Microsoft campus’.  However, for us commoners, this is even better.

First, go here on the Windows Central site and follow the link to order the shirt.  It is $20 (plus shipping of about $3.50) and it will arrive in mid-April.  The minimum required number to order has been met so these will be printed.  And really, how can you NOT want one of these?
