1st Generation Moto 360 Seeing Marshmallow Today

Multiple owners of the 1st generation of the Moto 360 are starting to see Android Marshmallow show up on their smartwatches today and I am one of them.  The update, which has been rolling out to other smartwatches recently, seems to have had the trigger pulled for one of the first and popular Android Wear devices with users reporting to Phandroid and Reddit that they are seeing the update.

Google Docs, Sheets and Slides Now Have Push Notifications

Following up on notifications coming to Google Drive, Google has announced that their productivity apps, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, all have the ability to send you and you can control push notifications from the apps.  The update to the three Android apps will be rolling out to the Google Play Store and should come to your devices over the course of the next three days.  While push notifications themselves are not necessarily new to the productivity apps, how you control them is in this update.  Previously, if you did not want push notifications from Google Drive, Sheets or Slides, you could only deactivate that feature from Google Drive.  That is now no longer the case.

Gmail Notification Fix for Marshmallow Rolling Out

Since the update to Android Marshmallow on Nexus devices, a number of Gmail users have had issues with notifications.  Some users don’t get notifications while others get them sporadically.  I posted a way to get around this a few weeks ago but even that isn’t 100%.  Google has been working on the issue for some time and it looks like relief is in sight.  In the Nexus Product Forums, Googler Orrin (the community manager) has posted that a fix for the issue is rolling out and should be getting to all users soon.

Following the release of the Android Marshmallow update to the LG G4 on Sprint and T-Mobile, AT&T has followed suite and begun rolling out the latest major build of Android to the device.  The build is MRA58K and weighs in just shy of 1GB on the download size.  If you know your Android Marshmallow builds, you will know that the MRA58K was the original posted build of Android from Google back last fall.  It is unfortunate that it isn’t the latest 6.0.1 build but at least the upgrade is released which the good news.

Instagram App Now Supports Multiple Accounts

The photos and video social sharing app Instagram has a new update rolling to the Google Play Store that is bringing support for multiple user accounts.  The new feature is something that the company has been testing the past few months and is one of the most requested features of the app.  Currently, if you have multiple account, you have to manually log in and out of each account in the app each time you want to switch from one to another.  This is not difficult but it can be a lengthy process when you are on-the-go.  As more corporations are leveraging Instagram to reach their customers and prospects, this became even more of an issue with those account managers having to continually switch between multiple accounts or their work and personal accounts.

That’s now changing and while the back end process for the update is all done, the app update is just now rolling out to users.

OnePlus Drops The Price of The One Plus 2 to $349

OnePlus continues to push hard for your business with the removal of their invitation system to purchases their devices and now have dropped the price of their flagship.  The OnePlus 2, which the company released last year as their “flagship killer” device, has had a price drop of $40, taking it down to $349 for the 64GB model. The new price is effectively immediately and while a $40 isn’t huge, it certainly will make a difference for those who are considering picking one up.  It also makes it very competitive on price when you consider the amount of storage that the device has compared to others in the same price range.

This new price is a permanent drop so there is no special discount code or time in which you have to buy it.
