Buy 1 Year Xbox Music Pass and Get a Free Lumia 635

It seems weekly that Microsoft is running a great deal on the Lumia 635.  This week is no exception.  Right now on the Microsoft Store you can get a Lumia 635 free when you purchase a 1 year subscription to Xbox Music Pass.  The deal is $99 and that gets you one year of Xbox which you can stream to your device (ad-free I might add), create your own stations, download music for offline listening and sync this across all your devices.  It’s a great deal by itself but now you get arguably a fantastic music player in the Lumia 635 included.  Oh yeah, it’s a pretty good phone too.

To get this deal, follow the link below.  If you haven’t read my review of the Lumia 635, you can do that right here.

New Devices Page on Microsoft Accounts Reflect Windows 10 Look

The quiet but consistent rollout of Windows 10 look and feel continues to march across Microsoft’s websites.  This morning you can now see the new look Devices page on the new Microsoft account pages that reflect the look and feel as well as the icons for Windows 10.  It is certainly more dramatic than the current device look you find on the Windows Phone pages today and is likely the look we can expect to see across all Microsoft digital properties in the coming months.

HP Stream 7 Windows Tablet – $79 At The Microsoft Store

If you are looking for a great deal on a small Windows tablet, the Microsoft Store may have your answer.  Right now you can get the HP Stream 7 Windows Tablet for just $79.  That’s a $20 savings off the regular price of $99.  But wait, there’s more!  In addition to saving the $20, you also get a year of Office 365 Personal Edition with it free (a $69.99 value) plus you get a $25 Windows Store Gift Card so you can buy apps and games online with your new tablet.  Yeah, it’s a pretty good deal all the way around.

Microsoft Updates Several MSN Apps for Windows

Microsoft has released updates to four of the MSN apps for Windows 8.1 today but as has become the norm for these updates, there is scantly any information on what has been changed or updated in these apps.  The updates impact MSN Weather, MSN Money, MSN Health & Fitness and MSN Sports.  The updates, which only appear to be on the Windows 8.1 side and not on the Windows Phone side (not yet at least), have no release notes or change logs, leaving it to our collective imagination as to what has changed.

Windows 10 for Phone Preview Will Support 512MB Devices

For those of you who are wanting to try the first Windows 10 for Phone preview this month and have a 512MB RAM device such as the Lumia 635, you may be in luck.  According to a tweet from Microsoft’ Gabriel Aul, there will be some 512MB devices that will be supported with the first preview.  Which ones however remains a mystery and we likely won’t know that until the preview actually drops later this month.
