T-Mobile Rolls Out Updates to The Current Samsung Galaxy Series

T-Mobile has released a small software update for the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Galaxy Note8 on their network.  The updates are mostly focused on bug fixes and performance improvements.  The builds that you are looking for are as follows:

  • G960USQU2ARF7 for the Galaxy S9
  • G965USQU2ARF7 for the Galaxy S9 Plus
  • N950USQU4CRF3 for the Galaxy Note8

All of these updates have been released by T-Mobile  at this point so you likely can go to check for the update in Settings on your particular device.

T-Mobile Rolls Out Camera Stability Update to the Samsung Galaxy S9

For those of you who are starting to receive your pre-ordered Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+ from T-Mobile, you already have a new update rolling out to your shiny new toy.  The update, which is just over 250MB in size, brings stability improvements to the camera as well as the face unlock feature of the phones.

Users are reporting that they are getting the update within a couple of hours of activating their phone on T-Mobile so it appears that the US carrier had the update ready to roll out as soon as the phones started getting into customer’s hands.

Pre-Orders of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Now Available at The Microsoft Store

Joining the ranks of several other retailers, the Microsoft Store is now offering the new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ for pre-order.  The unlocked variants of both phones will start shipping on March 16th, like other retailers.  The S9 is priced at $719.99 while the S9+ is $839.99.

The addition of these new Samsung phones falls in line with what the company did with the S8 last year, offering it as a pre-order.  With the S7, they made a “Microsoft version” of the phone that came with several of the company’s apps pre-installed.

Download All of The Samsung Galaxy S9 Wallpapers

Less than a day after being announced, all of the stock wallpapers for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ have leaked and are now available here on the Wallpaper page.  As I normally do on these posts, I’ve put all of the wallpapers after the break so those who are not interested can move along and skip having to load them.

All of the wallpapers measure 1920×1920 or 2560×2560 so they will work with any mobile out there and could even be used as a wallpaper for your Chromebook, PC or Mac in some cases.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Lineup Announced – Pre-Orders Start March 2

As expect, Samsung has announced the all new Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ at Mobile World Congress today.  The two flagship devices are solid upgrades to last year’s S8 series with the S9+ having some unique features over the standard S9.

The S9 and the S9+ are both powered by the Snapdragon 845 here in the US, with the S9 having 4GB of RAM and starting with 64GB of storage.  You can go up to 256GB on that built-in storage on both devices but, the S9+ will have 6GB of RAM on board.

The Galaxy S9 has a 12MP rear facing camera while the S9+ has a dual camera configuration with an adjustable aperture.  The S9 is powered by a 3000mAh battery behind the 5.8″ QHD Super AMOLED display while the 6.2″ S9+ will have a slight bigger 3500mAh battery.

Both Samsung Galaxy S9 Models to be Priced Over $1000

With the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus slated to be announced in a couple of days at Mobile World Congress, one of the big questions was around the price points for each device.  Thanks to the awesomeness of Evan Blass, we know that both devices are going to top the eye watering $1000 mark.

Doing some currency conversion, it means that the Galaxy S9 is going to be just over $1000 while the S9 Plus will be hella expensive at $1299.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Lineup Exposed Thanks to Evan Blass

Thanks to the awesome Evan Blass, we now know what the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are going to look like nearly a month before they are officially announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.

If you don’t follow the Venture Beat writer on Twitter, you should.  He is deadly accurate with information on upcoming devices in the Android world.  I don’t post a lot of leak or rumor information here on ClintonFitch.com because it can change – a lot.  But with Mr. Blass, I generally count it as solid information.
