OnePlus 3 Sees OxygenOS Update – But Not THAT Update (Yet)

OnePlus has begun rolling out OxygenOS 3.2.8 for the OnePlus 3 but before you get all excited, no, it’s not Nougat.  Not yet at least.  The update is a small one but does bring several improvements and fixes to the OP3, the company’s flagship device until a couple of weeks ago with then 3T was announced.  Still, OnePlus has remained committed to getting software updates out for both the 3 and the 3T and even though this update isn’t Nougat, that is expected before the end of the year.

So what’s in this update?  Quite a few nice changes and updates

OnePlus 3T Now Available Starting at $439

After being announced a couple of weeks ago, the new OnePlus 3T is now available for you to order.  The flagship device brings some nice improvements and updates from the OnePlus 3 including a 128GB storage option.  Powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor quad-core processor, the 5.5″ phone comes with 6GB of RAM and starts with 64GB of onboard storage.  The 64GB model starts at $439 and is available in Gunmetal Grey and Soft Gold (currently not in stock).  If you want the 128GB model, that is $479 and is only available in the Gunmetal grey color.  Both storage sizes are in stock and orders today are shipping and arriving by November 29th according to my order.

Download the OnePlus 3T Wallpapers

With the announcement of the OnePlus 3T yesterday, a whole new set of outstanding wallpapers also were made known.  OnePlus has always had pretty awesome wallpapers, created by artist Hampus Olsson for them (he also does the wallpapers for Paranoid Android).  The set of 5 wallpapers are all beautifully done and fit well with the theme that OnePlus has had on the wallpapers for all of their devices.

I’ve posted all five of the wallpapers after the break for those who are interested.  If you aren’t, no problem and I’ve saved you a bit of loading time.  I do encourage everyone however to check out the Wallpaper page here on the site as there are nearly 100 there for your devices.

OnePlus Announces the OnePlus 3T

The OnePlus 3T was announced today by OnePlus, the latest flagship device in their lineup.  The new 3T is essentially a OnePlus 3 with improved specifications in some key areas as well as a new 128GB storage option.  Available in a Gunmetal or Soft Gold color, the phone will start at $439 for the 64GB model and will be available for purchase starting November 22nd.

The big news on the 3T is the improved processor and RAM.  This new phone has the Snapdragon 821 Quad-Core processor and is coupled with 6GB of RAM.  It sports a 5.5″ Full HD IMOLED display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 4, comes with either 64GB or 128GB of storage and has dual-SIM support.  Camera wise, the main camera is a 16MP shooter while the selfie camera is also a 16MP shooter which makes this phone a real powerhouse camera wise.

OnePlus Community App Hits The Play Store

OnePlus has had an active community of users and fans since their break into the market a couple of years back.  There is likely no better example of that community then the company’s user forums.  They are always teeming with activity, from those who are seeking help and those providing it, to company announcements about new software updates and hardware.  On the OnePlus 3, their latest phone, built into OxygenOS was a community forums app so users could get quick help or provide help right from their phone.  Now that app has made its way to the Play Store for anyone to install on their phones.

OnePlus Releases Beta 6 of OxygenOS 3.5.5 for the OnePlus 3

OnePlus has released a 6th beta of their Android Nougat based OxygenOS release for the OnePlus 3.  The new build, version 3.5.5, brings a lot of changes as the company gets ready for a public release of the update in December.  If you already have the beta installed on your OnePlus 3, this update to the home-brew version of Android for the OP3 will come to you via an OTA update.  If you are not a part of the beta program, you can sign up and then do a manual flash of your device to this latest build.

As for what is addressed in this update, it is pretty extensive and for those in the beta program, its well worth the update.

Android Marshmallow Released for the OnePlus X

OnePlus has finally released its Android Marshmallow build for the OnePlus X.  The update comes in the form of OnePlus’ homebrew Android, OxygenOS, and you are looking for build 3.1.2 if you have the 5″ phone.  The update is rolling out now but it could take several days for everyone to get it.  The update includes, interestingly, the October security update (yes, we are still in September) along with Marshmallow 6.0.1.  Jump on it now X owners, this is likely the last major update for the phone.

OnePlus Rolling Out OxygenOS 3.2.6 to OnePlus 3 Devices

OnePlus has announced that a big update for OxygenOS is coming to the OnePlus 3 starting today.  The updated build is version 3.2.6 and will have a small roll out today with a broader roll out starting tomorrow.  The Android Marshmallow-based build has a significant number of performance and bug fixes in the update and if you have a OnePlus 3, you will most certainly want to get this installed on your device as soon as it comes to it.  You should get an OTA update over the course of the next few days and you can manually check for it by going to Settings>About Phone>System Update.
