OneNote for Windows 8.1 Gets Password Protection Support – But Still Half-Baked

The OneNote for Windows 8.1 has been updated and it finally brings support for accessing password protected sections in your OneNote notebooks.  But it still isn’t complete support which means you still need the desktop version of the app.  Why Microsoft?  Why?

Lumia Camera for Windows Phone Updated – But It’s Not The Update You Are Looking For

This morning I saw on my Store app on my Lumia 1320 there was an app update for Lumia Camera.  I was giddy as I thought it was the much anticipated version 5.0 of the app (even though my phone won’t be able to take advantage of some of the more cool features).  But alas, it is not version 5.0 but rather a bug fix update.  Everyone can take a breath now.

Offline File Access Coming to OneDrive for Windows Phone

On the OneDrive User Voice blog, Microsoft Program Manager Casey Penk has confirmed that offline file access is coming to OneDrive for Windows Phone.  While no official timeline was given on when users can expect this feature, the official-unofficial announcement is great news for Windows Phone users of the Microsoft cloud storage service.

VLC for Windows Phone Updated After Initial Release Last Week

The open source media app VLC for Windows Phone has received a minor update today after its initial release last week.  The hugely popular app on other platforms has been in beta for several months for Windows Phone but last week got a major update as it prepares to go GA (General Availability)  The start was a bit rocky as several users reported bug issues with the app.  The developer, VideoLabs, seems to be addressing some of those issues.
