Today’s Deal – Google Pixelbook with Pixelbook Pen is $987 at Amazon

Today’s Deal is a great opportunity to pick up the Goggle Pixelbook along with the Pixelbook Pen.  Right now at Amazon, you can pick up the combination of the two for $987.  That is less than what the Pixelbook along normally costs.  This is the lowest price for the combination that I’ve seen for the premium Chromebook since its release.

The price is for the Intel i5 powered unit with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.  It is certainly powerful enough to do anything you would need, be it in Chrome OS or Android apps running on the device.

PUBG Mobile Now Supported on Chromebooks – Kinda

If you are a PUBG Mobile player and have a high end Chromebook, today is a good day.  The latest update to the mobile version of PUBG for Android can now run on a Chromebook but there are a few catches that you need to be aware of before getting overly excited.  The cool thing is that it is there.

First, make no mistake:  You need a high end Chromebook for this to work.  The game defaults into low graphics mode even on my i5 Intel Pixelbook and while it looks great, it still isn’t a sweet looking as it is on my Pixel XL phone.  ARM-based Chromebooks are going to struggle mightily with the game.  If you load it up on an ARM model, be prepared for a fair amount of lag.

Samsung Quietly Updates the Samsung Chromebook Pro with a Backlit Keyboard

If there has been one almost universal complaint about the Samsung Chromebook Pro, it has been the lack of a backlit keyboard.  Many felt, me included, that for the price point of $599, it should have had this simple feature.  It would see that Samsung has listened.  Over the weekend, the product page for the Chromebook Pro on the Samsung site was updated and it highlights that it now comes with a backlit keyboard.

The price of this slightly updated Pro is $599, the same price as the original when its as released last year.  Based on the specifications listed on the product page, it appears to be exactly the same device as the first generation Chromebook Pro, just with the keyboard backlighting added.

Review – The Noreve Laptop Sleeve is The Perfect Luxury Pixelbook Sleeve

Let me be perfectly clear to start:  I love my Google Pixelbook.  It is without question the best Chromebook I’ve ever used.  It is fast, sleek and beautiful.  So after getting one, one of the first things I started investigating was a sleeve to protect it while I’m in the office or out about town.

The reality was, I found plenty of sub-$30 fabric sleeves but none of them I felt had the style I was looking for in a sleeve.  Then there is the other end of the spectrum in the Google branded sleeve for the Pixelbook.  But I quickly ruled it out.  If I’m going to spend $100 on a sleeve, it is going to look stellar.

Enter Noreve.  I’ve reviewed plenty of Noreve products here on the site over the years and I’ve never been disappointed in any of them.  Add to that the 13″ Noreve Laptop Sleeve.  It looks the part of being a luxury sleeve for your Pixelbook, bringing a sleek, simple design that protects and is stylish while doing it.  Yes, it is a little more than the Google branded sleeve for the Pixelbook but if you are committed to spending $100+ on a sleeve for it, why not do it with panache?
